 21st ANTI-TANK REGIMENT, ROYAL CANADIAN ARTILLERY
The 98th (Bruce) Battery was mobilized on 24th May, 1940, as the 98th (Bruce) Anti-Tank Battery, a sub-unit of the 4th Anti-Tank Regiment, 5th Canadian Armoured Division, with which it served in Italy and North-West Europe.
The 97th was mobilized on 1st September, 1939, as a sub-unit of the 5th Army Field Brigade, an Army Troops unit later designated 21st Army Field Regiment and disbanded in the United Kingdom on 21st November, 1943.
These Regiments were originally organ-ized on 14th September, 1866, as the 30th Battalion of Wellington Rifles and the 32nd Bruce Battalion of Infantry respectively, and became the 30th Regiment "Wellington Rifles" and the 32nd Bruce Regiment on 8th May, 1900.

 The Royal Tank Regiment
A composite squadron was formed by the 2nd and 5th Royal Tank Regiments and covered the 400 mile withdrawal to Cherbourg, while the main body of the Second left Brest by ship for England on 16 June 1940.
The present Royal Tank Regiment, composed of two regular regiments, is the direct heir to the original armoured car pioneers of 1914, the Naval Brigade and the RNAS squadron which augmented the British Expeditionary Forces for the defence of Antwerp in August of that year.
The tank, a revolutionary new weapon system, born of General Swinton's vision, was to break the stalemate of trench warfare and the dominance of the machine gun of the battlefields of Flanders sixteen years later.

The present Royal Tank Regiment, composed of two regular regiments, is the direct heir to the original armoured car pioneers of 1914, the Naval Brigade and the RNAS squadron which augmented the British Expeditionary Forces for the defence of Antwerp in August of that year.
In July 1941, all Royal Armoured Corps units were ordered to adopt the black beret, as worn by the tank regiments, but as H.M. King George VI was the regiments Colonel-in-Chief, he ordered that 11th Hussars were to continue to wear their rust coloured beret, with its cherry-picker band, for which the regiment was grateful.
The Royal Horse Guards trace their origins to a force raised by Cromwell prior to the second invasion of Scotland, but the parliamentary officers were replaced by royalists in 1660.

 The Royal Canadian Hussars (Montreal)

Originally part of the 1st Canadian Army Tank Brigade, in May 1941 the Garry's were transferred to the 5th Canadian Armoured Division to form the 1st Canadian Armoured Brigade with the Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadians) and the 1st Hussars.
The Regiment was initially given the task of Divisional Cavalry Regiment for the 2nd Canadian Division.
Now known as the 2nd Canadian Armoured Brigade of the 3rd Canadian Division, this was the formation the Garry's would remain with until the end of the war.

“Second set of decals appear in Concord 7005 ‘US Tank Destroyers in Combat 1941-1945’ by Steve Zaloga and depict a vehicle of 4th Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, Netherlands, May 1945.
This unit was part of the 5th Canadian Armoured Division and I suspect would have had the divisional emblem and an arm-of-service marking as well as the individual vehicle markings provided.
