Lone Sentry: Weapons Most Frequently Used, Italy (WWII U.S. Intelligence Bulletin, November 1942)
Shortly before the present war, the Italians decided to increase the caliber of their rifles and light machine guns from 6.5 mm (.256 in) to 7.35 mm (.289 in), and a new rifle and carbine of this caliber actually were introduced.
The main differences are that the model 38 has a larger caliber, is shorter, weighs less, and has a light folding bayonet which normally is attached to the barrel, but which can be removed and used as a dagger.

 M15A4 Rifle
The gun relies on power from the rechargeable battery pack in the stock to turn mechanical gears inside the receiver that compress and release a piston, which then creates a blast of air to propel the plastic 6 mm BB through the barrel of the gun.
In contrast, milliamperage, or mAh, determines endurance (the number of shots the battery will produce before it needs recharging),so more milliamperage means more shots, but since battery packs have to be recharged at a fixed rate, it also takes longer to recharge a battery pack with greater milliamperage.
The piston then creates a blast of air to propel the plastic 6 mm BB through the gun’s unrifled barrel.

 Cabela's Talk Forums - 6.5x55 swede
I have had a real hard time finding anyone with experience in 6.5 mm caliber guns.
I would love to discuss pro's and con's of the calibers you mention, but they are really so close to one another in order to make discussion interesting, we would have to have beer and pretzels.
I'm leaning towards a.260 over 6.5x55 as my 6.5 caliber "mountain" rifle because it seems the 6.5x55 is more of a 140-160 grain gun and the.260 is more of a 120-140 grain cartridge because of the barrel twist rates that the guns are usually chambered for....just wanted to confirm that this makes sense.
