  DailyGame Review: Sub Rebellion [PS2]
Sub Rebellion is an incredibly easy title to pick up and play, which is nice if you're like me, and have been tortured by the controls in older sub titles.
In the default config, the left stick handles the pitch of the sub (nose up/nose down), the right stick handles the camera, and the D-pad handles the basic steering of up/down/left/right.Along with the sticks, the L1 and L2 are throttle controls while R1 and R2 handle the ballast controls (climb/dive).
Subs slither through the water with a realistic sense of motion, and the water provides true resistance, slowing down subs and torpedoes.

688 Attack Sub download @ Game Downloads
688 Attack Sub is a classic modern submarine simulation which puts you in command of either the American Los Angeles or the Soviet Alfa class nuclear-powered submarines.
Overall, 688 Attack Sub is an interesting early subsim and certainly a classic in the genre-- arguably the best subsim for PC until Dynamix' Aces of The Deep years later.
I can't say i'm really a big fan of sub games or simulations in general but I found 688 attack sub to be a very playable and enjoyable game.

SUB COMMAND Review, Sub Command article and Sub Command information by SUBSIM Review
Sub Command is not an arcade game so subsim beginners will need to appreciate the concept of learning and patience.
Sub Command has AI that is much more responsive to the player's actions than we knew in 688(I).
Subs will vary their speed and depth with some semblance of reason--no more 15 knot Kilos showing up as easy targets for you.

688 Attack Sub has an unusually large number of detailed screens, bitmaps and text; in fact, over two megabytes of information, all of which had to be compressed several times to fit onto the floppies included in the package.
The larger the oval, the closer it is to your sub.
Sub A is being pursued by sub B. At 1., sub A cuts his engines and drifts.

The fun thing is that if you choose the russian sub you get the same mission at the Americans but from the Russian view.
When you need to attack a ship you can just use you periscope but you can also select target on the map or under water.
The sub has almost of all the features of modern submarines so if you want a realistic submarine game you can't go wrong with this one.

 GameSpy.com - Reviews: Sub Command: Seawolf-Akula-688(I) (PC)
How Sub Command managed to stay alive is a mystery, but like the submarines it models, it worked its way to retail quietly under the radar.
Although the most realistic experience comes from playing Sub Command entirely at the internal stations, there is a 3D representation of the world displayed in an optional window.
Sub Command is staunchly hardcore and players must learn much about real submarine operations if they want to succeed in the dozens of single and campaign missions.

In Sub Command take charge of the most deadly modern-day submarines in the world as you command three distinct submarines across two unique and challenging campaigns.
I shall invest in the game and hope it is at least an improvement on a sub sim which I have not yet found a match for.
I am less than impressed with 688 attack sub, Red Storm was much better laid out and easier to control with fewer keys to master and so I hope this is not just an improvement of 688 as that game needs much more than a few new gimmicks.

 SSN-21 SEAWOLF from Electronic Arts
688 Attack Sub gave computer submariners a chance to flex their skills in an arena of modern submarine warfare, and its modem play capability gave them a chance to test their mettle against a live, presumedly intelligent human opponent.
Subwar may appeal to some who like the idea of futuristic subs racing about like jet fighters with torpedoes less accurate than some of the worst performers of WWII, but for those of you thirsting for a more contemporary sub challenge, Seawolf is just what the doctor ordered.
Though your sub's sonarman will eventually analyze and identify contacts on his own, you can utilize the spectrum analysis and a handy chart in your reference pamphlet to beat your sonarman to the punch.

The entire weapons library in Sub Command is huge--just about every possible weapon used by today's seagoing navies is included, as are some weapons that are rumored or theorized (like the 200-knot-capable super-cavitating Russian Shkval torpedo).
When you're at the dock before a mission commences, Sub Command lets you outfit your sub with a certain weapons loadout or configuration, depending upon the mission at hand.
Since Sub Command will ship with a handy mission-editor function, you will be able to test your mettle against whatever threat and scenario you can think of creating.

What could be more fun than prowling the ocean floor in an attack sub, taking out hapless transport ships and launching torpedo volleys at their military escorts?
If you’re manning a sub, voice control will let you play an almost completely hands-free game, but playing as a surface ship will still require some mouse usage.
Until that time comes, you'll have plenty to keep you busy as you work through the random patrols and the massive campaign, which can be somewhat repetitive at times, but is an overall enjoyable experience.

Most of the time, you'll want the sub to remain quiet, because the more noise it makes, the easier you are to detect.
Rather, the player can choose how much help he has at the different stations, using the aforementioned "assistants." There is also a complete in-game "cheat" menu, which can be used to do everything from giving your sub an infinite number of torpedoes, to displaying enemy vessels in the 3D view.

While the January monitoring revealed nothing unusual, the deployment was just one more indicator that, long before the September 11 attacks and subsequent letter-borne anthrax assaults, US security experts were taking seriously the threat of a large-scale biological attack.
A successful attack with biological agents-anthrax, smallpox and bubonic plague top the most-feared list -- might only become clear days later, when people became seriously ill and were beyond the help of available treatments.
According to most experts, however, an airborne attack is more likely than a water-borne one and could be far more damaging.
