MN gene and protein - Patent 6774117   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-16)
In HeLa and in tumorigenic HeLa x fibroblast hybrid (H/F-T) cells, MN protein is manifested as a "twin" protein p54/58N; it is glycosylated and forms disulfide-linked oligomers.
MN is manifested in HeLa cells by a twin protein, p54/58N, that is localized on the cell surface and in the nucleus.
In HeLa cells infected with MX, observed were conspicuous ultrastructural alterations, that is, the formation of abundant filaments on cell surfaces and the amplification of mitochondria.

HeLa cells were transiently co-transfected with plasmids encoding wild-type Stat5b or tyrosine mutants generated on the Stat5bY699F in a sequential manner and Src.
HeLa cells were co-transfected with expression vectors for Stat5b or Stat5bY679F together with constitutively active Src kinase (panels A and B) or PrlR with subsequent Prl induction for 30 min (panel C).

Stress-induced Nuclear Bodies Are Sites of Accumulation of Pre-mRNA Processing Factors -- Denegri et al. 12 (11): 3502 ...
HeLa cells, either unstressed (37°C) or heat-shocked 1 h at 42°C and allowed to recover 1 h at 37°C (42°C), were costained with the anti-HAP polyclonal antibody and with the 7-1 mAb to Sam68.
The distribution of the different GFP fusions in transiently transfected HeLa cells, either unstressed (a) or heat-shocked (b), was determined by visualizing the autofluorescent signal of GFP in confocal laser microscopy.
HeLa cells were transfected with a fusion between GFP and the entire ORF of SRp30c, 9G8, or SF2/ASF.

HeLa cell tumor formation is inhibited by a recombinant SV40-based viral vector expressing the bovine papillomavirus E2 protein
HeLa cells per site were injected subcutaneously into nude mice.
Four groups were formed: 1) Controls, 2) HeLa cells infected in vitro with BPV E2-containing virus, 3) HeLa cells mixed with the E2 virus immediately prior to injection, 4) Injection of E2-containing virus into HeLa cell tumors in mice.
