		“8 Mile” is the requisite Eminem plea for the ability to leave the superstar life, and the manic screams of “Rabbit Run” follow the film’s protagonist as he overcomes his stage fright, his relationships with his girlfriend and mother and the frustration of his trailer-park life.
		Soundtracks, particularly those with a hip-hop edge, can prove to be promotional vehicles and can often outshine the cinematic venture that they are supposed to accompany.
		With the unbelievably catchy and aggressive “Lose Yourself”; present, not to mention the fact that they don’t push the soundtrack on the viewer during the film, “8 Mile” is as solid and consistent as Eminem’s performance in the movie and on the record.

		The movie "8 Mile" was beyond my expectations, though my expectancy was stymied at such flops as "Glitter" & "Who's That Girl." Eminem has been a showman and doesn't falter with this soundtrack or the movie.
		In toto, this "soundtrack" (itself a misnomer, since it includes many trakcs simply "inspired by" the movie, rather than from it) includes a fabulous first track, and then fifteen tracks that mire in mediocrcity.
		Only two of these songs (Lose Yourself and 8 Mile) were actually played in the movie but the rest of them were good to make up a whole album of good rap material.

		For one, 8 Mile might have the most believable, most powerful representation of an automobile factory of any film in the last twenty years, and it still manages to use the location for sophisticated, plot driving drama.
		It's very heavy and bleak, at times it skirts the boundary of cliche a little bit, and the villains, a rival rap group known as the "Free World," are a little over the top, but, time and again, the solid acting and daunting camerawork keep coming back to seize the eye and command attention.
		All in all, the thing that really defines 8 Mile is how committed to this idea the cast and crew must have been in order to make this film.

		As some of you may know, the 8 mile soundtrack has been around the net for a while...I downloaded the 1st version (without the samples and an extra Eminem track) last weekend.
		Eminem´s songs r good (Lose Yourself, 8 mile, Run Rabbit Run), D12 (Rap Game) is nice, 50 Cent´s Wanksta and Places to go r good also.
		So I´d give a 3,5 mic...I was expecting something better, specially from Jigga and Nasir...I just hope their next albuns don´t sound like these featured on the soundtrack.

		He does gain a little momentum back though on his solo song "8 Mile," which features a stuttering beat that sounds like a mixture of Dr. Dre and the Neptunes.
		As usual, Eminem's not afraid to generate controversy, but his crew of Detroit homeboys still prove themselves to be worthy to hang with him on the mic lyrically.
		Overall this is one of the better rap related soundtracks to be released in a long time, although it drags a bit by the over-reliance on Shady Records stars (also featured on a bonus sampler in some copies) and on Eminem's beats in particular.

		well, they might not suck, but the songs really shouldn't be on the 8 mile cd, since they are not rap.
