		The TR-808 also was the inspiration for the name of the British electronic outfit 808 State.
		The sounds of the TR-808 were and still are very often used in Hip-Hop, RandB, House, Electro and many forms of electronic dance music.
		Many of Roland's other products, including their electronic drums, include TR-808-style drum sounds, although they may be samples and are usually not the same sound.

		Surprisingly, the most disappointing tracks are the two released on 12” as The Lounge Jays, “Massagerama” and “Sex Mechanic”; both sound extremely dated with a combo of embarrassing sexual moans and annoying vocal samples cluttering the entire affair with a generic and clumsy vibe.

		Anyone getting into electronic music in the 90's sooner or later found themselves handed over the same indisputable truth : 808 State's "Newbuild" was one of the most important electronic music records ever made and without doubt one of the definitive British Techno / Acid albums.
		Rumours that more Newbuild era tracks were in existance have been circulating for about 3 years now, but no one imagined that the tracks would be quite THIS GOOD!.
		We said it last week with the release of the New Order cover versions 12", and we'll say it again now - hard to believe that these tracks are slowly edging close to being 20 years old.
