  Intel® 845 Chipset
Optimally designed and extensively tested for the Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor, the Intel® 845 chipset is designed to maximize the available bandwidth of DDR 200/266 or PC133 SDRAM for performance and mainstream systems.
Allows flexibility for multiple configurations on a single card to extend USB, LAN and audio
The Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor and the Intel® 845 Chipset may contain design defects or errors known as errata which may cause the product to deviate from published specifications.

Target PC :: Soyo SY-P4ISR (845 SDRAM) Mainboard
The 845 chipset is Intel's solution to get the Pentium 4 into the mainstream market; the chip costs lower to produce, the new core logic allows mainboard makers to get back to the lower cost four-layer PCB's and at the same time takes use of the less expensive SDRAM or DDR SDRAM memory.
Intel introduced their 845 chipset earlier this year in order to accommodate their Pentium 4 with a value segment chip which costs less to produce and eliminating the need of using the expensive RDRAM memory.
Note that as Intel positioned the 845 as a value segment, ECC support is not available on the memory controller.

 845
The standard 845 made by Shuguang is not a bad tube.
In the standard Shuguang 845, the plate structure is braced against the top of glass envelop by a mica bridge.
From this, I theorize that the sonic differences between the 845 and 845Bs are not due to the removal of the mica bridge, but to other changes in construction.

 X-bit labs - MSI 845 Ultra-ARU Review
The whole 845 Ultra family is built on the same PCB, so everything we'll say about the full-featured MSI 845 Ultra-ARU is true for the other, "lite" models.
The similarity between the 845 Ultra family members can be seen with a naked eye, while the implicit connections between 845 Ultra and 845 Pro mainboards are a lot more exciting.
MSI 845 Pro family was based on a PC133 SDRAM version of i845 chipset, but i845 and i845D are just two different revisions (A2 and B0) of the same chipset.

 LinuxHardware.org | Budget Pentium 4: 845 Motherboards Reviewed
Intel's 845 chipset has arrived and now Intel fans finally have an upgrade path that will allow them to keep their existing SDRAM and still upgrade to the Intel Pentium 4 processor.
The 845 chipset is Intel's initial answer to consumers that want either a budget Pentium 4 PC or those seeking to upgrade from a Pentium 3 system without sacrificing the SDRAM that they've invested in.
In the audio compression test we see the 845 just slightly behind the 850 which is really to be expected since it is very processor intensive and doesn't really rely on memory heavily.

AudioVidioPhilia: il Monstro, an 845:845 Power Amplifier
While there I had a chance to discuss the 845 amp project with some of the other attendees and found that many folks were thinking along the same lines - of building an 845 amp that did not drive the tubes flat out, but instead at lower voltage for less power and clean sound.
Each 845 tube requires 10V at 3.25 Amps to operate - with a thoriated tungsten filament ample free electrons are present in the charge space of this triode; this is one of the reasons I believe the 845 sounds so powerful.
Each 845 has a dedicated filament supply that is grounded via the center-tap of the cathode hum pots shown in the schematic.

The deHavilland Aries 845-G SE Monoblock Power Amplifier by Dick Olsher
Dinosaur-sized relative to post World War II miniatures, the 845 was released by RCA in 1931 as an audio-frequency amplifier and modulator tube, and saw extensive use in RCA AM radio transmitters.
In particular, the 211 and 845 began to command considerable attention because of their extremely linear transfer characteristics, and ability to deliver significant power in single-ended operation.
The output stage uses a single 845 in a standard SE connection with the plate circuit coupled to the primary winding of an Electra Print output transformer.

SoundStage! Equipment Review - deHavilland Aries 845 Mono Amplifiers (3/2002)
SET circuitry using the 845 output tube; precision stepped attenuators are a $600 option and turn the amps into a single-input integrated amp.
Dynamically, the Aries 845 was most competent, as long as volume levels were kept within the limits of the power capability (more on this below).
The Aries 845 also had a somewhat softer, more polite sense to treble notes, and did not scale quite the heights of extension mustered by the 280SE.

PC Hardware reviews, overclocking, news - MSI 845 Pro2 1/8
It's the last 845 motherboard we will review because I think that with MSI 845 Pro2 there are not many things that need improvement in 845 implementation.
The 845 chipset is protected by overheating with a heatsink and a fan.
Like all motherboards which have 6 PCI slots 845 Pro2 suffers from memory insertion problems when the AGP card is in place.

Review of the Micro-Star 845 Pro
While the 845 Pro 2 is a Socket 478 device, the 845 Pro is a first-generation Socket 423 board.
In fact, the 845 Pro is pretty spartan compared to the 845 Pro 2, as the latter comes with many of the same features, and adds to them integrated RAID, and audio controllers.
Configuration of the 845 Pro is an entirely jumperless affair; not a single on-board jumper relates to the configuration of the CPU.

ESI #845 acts as an inert barrier, resistant to impact, acids, caustics, solvent and thermal shock.
ESI #845 is designed to be applied in one coat at 1.0 to 1.5 mils.
ESI #845 may be top coated with a wide range of top coating systems.

 The Tech Report - The Pentium 4 gets SDRAM: Intel's 845 and VIA's P4X266 chipsets - Page 1
A version of the 845 chipset capable of using faster DDR SDRAM is in the works, but Intel says it won't arrive until after the first of the year.
The 845 is Intel's platform for pushing the Pentium 4 into the mainstream market.
Beyond the memory controller, however, the 845 is extremely similar to the 850.

 6moons audioreviews: Dared VP-845
The 845, apart from being a physically bigger power triode, is robustly built as a radio transmitting tube, with the plate machined from solid graphite to accommodate extremely high current dissipation and voltage.
When music signals are entrusted to an 845, a three-dimensional soundstage can be recreated in a most effortless way.
Some 845 amps manage to squeeze out more (as high as 30wpc) with an even beefier power supply or by running their valves hotter.

The Intel 845 Chipset Family > The Intel 845 Chipset Family   (Site not responding. Last check: )
The current version of the Intel 845 (sometimes referred to as the 845D) differs from the original version by offering support for both 200 and 266MHz DDR SDRAM as well as PC-133 SDRAM (the original version was developed for use with PC-133 SDRAM only).
The 845 uses the same ICH2 I/O controller hub chip (82801-BA) used in the Intel 850 and 850E chipsets, which are Rambus-based systems, and also appeared in the 815EP, which is for a low-cost SDRAM-based system.
The features of the 845 make for a solid system, but also indicate that the 845 is a bit behind the cool technology curve.

 MSI 845 Ultra-ARU DDR / P4 Motherboard Review - PCSTATS.com
The i845D came onto the scene ahead of schedule to the delight of all Intel watchers and ushered in with it support for DDR memory.
MSI have chosen to use the i845-D on the 845 Ultra-ARU because of Intel's long reputation of producing solid, stable and well performing chipsets.
The MSI 845 Ultra has 4 USB 1.1 ports - two on the board, two on a riser card and the southbridge natively supports up to 4 IDE devices.
