The archives of 8-Bit Theater are copious, coming in as of this writing at 539 pages.
Now, I am told that 8-Bit Theater takes all of its sprites, and most of its pixel backgrounds, from actual Final Fantasy games from the NES.

Just thought I’d share, now I get to spend another weekend getting caught up with 8 Bit Theater (looks like some new OOTS strips are up too, oh fraptious day!!).
Along with the reading enjoyment of the strip, I also enjoyed being reminded of ANOTHER online comic strip site I used to frequent called 8 Bit Theater.
Kind of similar in style, this strip features the cast of characters from the original 8 Bit NES version of Final Fantasy.

Your character would work with the system, but I don't know if it, as it is, would give the game that 8-bit theater feel.
After you achieve at least 3 levels in a subclass, and gain 8 bits you can change class.
As one who has been studying or at least thinking about freeform a bit for a while, I think I should try to get you thinking in more solid way about what freeform means.

These are, in fact, the reasons that "8-Bit Theater" is stuck in the same mire it started in: the creator won't let go of these jokes.
Do not touch "8-Bit Theater" with a 10 foot pole, because you will certainly find better writing in Captain SNES, and you will find both better writing and truly original sprite art in Kidd Radd.
"8-Bit Theater" doesn't fall into any of those categories.
