After Solomon's death in 928 BC, two sister kingdoms evolved in Israel: the northern kingdom with the descendants of ten tribes (Kingdom of Israel), and the southern kingdom with the descendants of Judah and Benjamin (Kingdom of Judah).
In 720 BC the Kingdom of Israel was conquered by Assyrians and in 580 BC Kingdom of Judah was conquered by Nebuchadnezzer of Babylonia, and their respective inhabitants were exiled.

Virtual Egyptian - Shawabti of King Psamtik II, Dyn. 26
One could reasonably argue that kings did not need shawabtis, because they expected to be exempt from any labor conscription in the kingdom of the dead (and they certainly had no compelling need for a funerary statuette immortalizing their physical appearance, as it was already well documented in a variety of media).
In 590 BC, he was the first king of Dynasty 26 to mount a significant military campaign to protect the southern border against a threat of invasion which may have been imaginary.
Born in times of weakness, when Egypt was regularly invaded and generally controlled by the Assyrians, Dynasty 26 (‘the Saite Dynasty’) was installed at the head of the tiny kingdoms of Sais and Athribis in the Delta by the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal.

Dating of the Exodus - The Book of Exodus - A Commentary
An early date is suggested in the 15th century around 1450 BC and a late date in the 13th century around 1270 BC.
As we know that this temple was built in around 965 BC going back a further 480 years before that date would give us a date for the Exodus of around 1445 BC.
Those who would date him around 1900-1700 BC would probably accept the later date of the Exodus on these grounds, although it must always be recognised that numbers are often intended to be symbolical rather than real.

Virtual Egyptian - Alabaster shawabti of a noble, Dyn. 18
In many ways, Dynasty 18 could be viewed as the golden age of the Egyptian Civilization.
Spanning almost 280 years (1570-1293 BC), it ushered in the New Kingdom by a return to a powerful, monolithic Egyptian nation unified by a heavily centralized government under the undivided control of the king.
Egypt’s dominions expanded to include territory rife with natural resources; this wealth of resources fueled Egypt’s economy to unprecedented levels; the economic activity prompted the development of international trade and diplomacy; cultural and technological exchanges, together with spreading wealth, yielded a blossoming of the arts, and a widespread refinement of the Egyptian culture.
