Army Group Centre was to defeat the Soviet armies in (A landlocked republic in eastern Europe; formerly a European soviet) Belarus and to advance towards (A city of central European Russia; formerly capital of both the Soviet Union and Soviet Russia; since 1991 the capital of the Russian Federation) Moscow.
The advance of Army Group Centre was further delayed as (German Nazi dictator during World War II (1889-1945)) Hitler ordered a postponement of the offensive against Moscow, and to conquer the Ukraine first.
