This was considered a great victory for Hohenstaufen, and especially for the commander of the Battle, Group, SS StandartenFuhrer Walter Harzer, who was awarded the Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross on the 28th of September.

On September 3, Feld-Marschall Walther Model ordered II SS Panzer Korps to retire towards Arnhem; the 9th SS was to undergo a complete refit in Germany and was to turn over all heavy weapons to the 10th SS, which was to stay in Arnhem.
Near the end of January, the 9th SS was due for another refit and was sent to Kaufenheim-Mayen.
  Near the end of the month, the 9th SS was ordered to Amstetten, where they were to slow the American advance as peace negotiations were ongoing between the Allies and Germany.  On May 1,  Hohenstaufen was ordered to Steyr,  where they surrendered to the Americans with the capitulation of all German forces.
