An arête is "a narrow serrate mountain crest or rocky sharp-edged ridge or spur, commonly present above the snowline in rugged mountains (as in the Swiss Alps) sculpted by glaciers, and resulting from the continued backward growth of the walls of adjoining cirques" (Bates and Jackson, 1980) (see also Figures 9-20, G-8.2 and G-12.1).
According to Horvath (1975), the Ural Mountains (Ural´skiy khrebet) contain a core of crystalline rocks with folded Paleozoic and Mesozoic rocks on the west.
This Plate is a Landsat image of a part of the Ural Mountains of the Soviet Union showing the characteristic scalloped pattern of numerous cirques, some of which contain cirque glaciers.

The upper sections of the King’s River are in the Boston Mountains and tend to have a greater drop per mile than the lower sections, which are in the Springfield and Salem Plateaus.
Boston is the headwaters for two other notable streams, the Mulberry River on the south side of AR 16 and War Eagle Creek on the northwest side of town.

This is from Scott Patterson's postings of peaks in the Uinta's: The Uinta Mountains are one of the only mountain ranges in North America that run east to west rather than north to south.
Some others are Williams Fork Mountains (small range) in NW CO, West Elks CO (and sort of the Elks themselves), Little Belt Mountains MT, Whites in NH, Raft River Mountains UT, etc. There are a number of them, but they are still rare.
If you count the stuff in the middle sections of the counrty as mountain ranges, there are the Mesabi's and other small ranges in the Midwest as well as the ones in OK and AR as mentioned.
