 Lee Clarke's Introduction to Sociology
You will be graded on the sociological vocabulary you use as well as the description of reactions to your norm breaking experiment.
Explain the reactions of people that saw you break the norm and why you think they reacted the way they did.
We want you to deliberately break one of those norms and then write about your experience.

 KITHfan.org : You Might Also Like...Norm Macdonald
Norm is a storyteller; to get the full punch of one of his jokes, you inevitably have to hear several minutes of extrapolation before you get the full effect, and the funniest jokes sometimes come back to hit you even harder minutes into another bit.
Yet while Norm does lack the natural poise of an accomplished actor, occasionally appearing awkward and as if he doesn't know what to do with his hands or when to turn to the camera, he makes up for it with natural humour that other actors would kill for.
And Norm is completely his own man. If you ever wondered what so funny about his Weekend Update catch phrase "you guessed it: Frank Stallone," consider how many times your KITHless friends have asked you what was so funny about the whole Kirstie/Shelly thing.

Early in 1993, Norm made his 'big break' by landing a spot on Saturday Night Live, where he both had a chance to perfect some of his stand-up characters and eventually found himself hosting their mock news program, Weekend Update.
Norm worked the SNL/Weekend Update gig for some three years, coining many of his signatures phrases and establishing quite a fan base, until a dispute with an NBC Executive ended his rein over the role and eventually, forced him to leave Saturday Night Live completely.
Since his departure from SNL, Norm has starred in two feature length films, along with a multitude of smaller bit parts.

Here is the point: By saying that she is just trying to legally break school rules and equating her to a rebel who wants to wear a Metallica t-shirt is based on the presumption that she is rebelling against the "norm".
There have been circumstances where both have been used to discriminate against people of certain religious groups (eg when Sikh men were told to wear hard hats rather than their turbans) and this (link wilfully stolen from DML) case from a school in Luton where children were banned from wearing headscarves.
So the real question comes down to is how we see the "norm".

You are being asked to behave in a way that does not fit with an implicit social norm; you are not being asked to break a law or any other explicit rule (i.e., We will not bail you out of jail).
These norms are often unwritten and implicit, yet their influence on our social behavior can be quite strong.
One way to assess the power of social norms is to examine people's reactions when a norm is violated.

If we change the pavilion girdle break facet length to approximately 80%, which appears the norm for today, this 1.7% limitation is reduced to approximately 1.5%.
The ungula cut by the girdle break facets form the familiar scallop on the girdle edge, the depth of which (h) is related to c, and the angle at which the girdle break facet (beta) cut the girdle by the trigonometric relationship
Any girdle depth less than 1.7%, for the Tolkowsky crown and pavilion, would result in not only knife edges at the girdle, but flattened girdle edges and not a true round, surely not an Ideal cut from the industries point of view.

 The Everett Interpretation
Everett demonstrated [1], [2] that observations in each world obey all the usual conventional statistical laws predicted by the probabilistic Born interpretation, by showing that the Hilbert space's inner product or norm has a special property which allows us to makes statements about the worlds where quantum statistics break down.
Hilbert space vectors with zero norm don't exist (see below), thus we, as observers, only observe the familiar, probabilistic predictions of quantum theory.
Also it is unclear, to me anyway, how the resultant notion of "complex probability" differs from the quantum "probability amplitude" and thus why we are justified in collapsing the complex- valued probability as if it were a classical, real-valued probability.

Norm, i understand you about needing a break from your updated progress, it is hard to model a line of such real scale and detail in surveyor and yes, a break or multiple breaks are much needed to cope with the next task.

The norm of the vector of the set of worlds where experiments contradict the Born interpretation ("non-random" or "maverick" worlds) vanishes in the limit as the number of probabilistic trials goes to infinity, as is required by the frequentist definition of probability.
Everett tended to speak in terms of the measuring apparatus being split by the measurement, into non-interfering states, without presenting a detailed analysis of *why* a measuring apparatus was so effective at destroying interference effects after a measurement, although the topics of orthogonality, amplification and irreversibility were covered.

"White Room's" Norm Gentle (Maurice Godin) is trying to break away from his over-protective parents and their perfect blue house in Toronto's suburbs.

Overcome with guilt, he races home to do an odd penance; the next day, he leaves home in search of honor and absolution, a quest that takes him from the blue house to a green garden and then to a white room.

Plasticity, Evolvability and Modularity in RNA
Surprisingly, the reduction of plasticity leads to an extreme modularity, which we define and analyze from several perspectives: thermophysical (melting behavior, the RNA version of a norm of reaction), kinetic (folding pathways, the RNA version of development), and genetic (transposability, the insensitivity of modular traits to changing genetic context).
These models identify three mutational regimes: that corresponding to neutral confinement, a classic error threshold corresponding to the loss of the dominant phenotype, and an exploration threshold corresponding to a break-down of neutral confinement with the simultaneous persistence of the dominant phenotype.
This stastical property of the RNA genotype-phenotype map, which we call plastogenetic congruence, steers and then traps populations in regions where most genetic variation is phenotypically neutral.
