The film clearly establishes the accurate tone that the Fabs went through daily, and it wasn’t strictly generational.
Paul does decently in the film, but he stands out as somewhat forced, which is probably why he receives less screentime than the others; I can actively think of good moments from the other three, but I can’t recall a single standout piece from Paul.
Night was a cheaply made film from 1964, and those elements always sounded pretty bad.

They needed songs for the B-side of the album that were not in the film, Lennon used the same chord progression that had been used on "It Won't Be Long." Another of Lennon's relationship songs.
This song was intended to be used in the fire escape sequence in the film, but was replaced by "Can't Buy Me Love." In this, Lennon is saying that upon losing his girl, he would cry now, but later would come back and exact vengeance.

There we were ordering room service and being chased around by the road managers that were trying to get the Beatles into their cars, shouting at them, and telling them what to do.
We'll try to do that for the whole first quarter or third of the film - with them being in hotel rooms, being shouted at, being told what to do and then suddenly they rebel and jump out onto a fire escape and run down and just act like idiots.
They got in the car at the end of the day's shooting and by the time the got to Hyde Park Corner, which was about 25 minutes away they'd written the song.
