The outcome of the day of fighting was that, at Quatre Bras, Ney stopped any of Wellington's forces going to the aid of Blücher's Prussians and Napoleon, although unable to destroy the Prussian army, forced it to retreat in disarray.
He set off via Quatre Bras with the RA and combined his forces with the left wing of the AotN to pursue Wellington's forces, which were retreating towards Brussels.

Underworld: A Hundred Days Off: Pitchfork Review   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
Having a hundred days off is either a workman's fantasy or just another way of saying "unemployment", but either way, there's a nice mystique to it: an epic vacation, an eternity (to the shortsighted among us) of free time, all empty of responsibility, regret, and unwilled concerns.
A hundred days to wake up at three in the afternoon, a hundred days of raving 'til dawn, a hundred days to revel in all the fruits of blissful slackerdom-- this is what Underworld would like to bring you, and they come damn close.
But Underworld's Hundred Days is an unpaid holiday, you see, and over time, bills pile up, boredom sets in, and eventually, part of you wishes you had a job to go back to.

Underworld: A Hundred Days Off (2002): Reviews   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
What's so striking about A Hundred Days Off is that frontman/producer Hyde and producer Smith have reshaped Underworld as a duo without coming off as incomplete, overzealous, or jaded.
A Hundred Days Off is enjoyably uninspired; it defines both "pleasant" and "unremarkable".
The beauty of A Hundred Days Off is that it pumps and churns so suggestively; it somehow evokes the blues of the otherwise successful modern man, who goes out every night and dances alone in his head.

Underworld: A Hundred Days Off - PopMatters Music Review
The music, including first single "Two Months Off", is as hypnotic as a strobe light, but in the same way, the tracks get tiresome, as if your ear drums have been dancing to their energetic rhythms for way too long.
First off, it's not the kind of music you can listen to while sitting in front of a computer typing out a CD review.
The inherent calm in A Hundred Days Off sounds more like the DJs took a thousand days off to chill out (reflective in the first few tracks), and then towards the end of the album, it was like they wanted to break out of their maxing and relaxing with a frenzied release.

Given that A Hundred Days Off is the first record since 1999’s phenomenal Beaucoup Fish and the first album since Darren Emerson left the trio there seems to be a lot on resting on this album, Underworld carry the weight gracefully.
While Beaucoup Fish could encourage anyone with two left feet to try their skill and dancing A Hundred Days seems to be encouraging everyone to relax and feel the music more than dance to the music.

Guardian | Underworld: A Hundred Days Off
While most have used the downfall of superclubs such as Cream as an indication that all is not well, hardly anyone seems to have noted the demise of dance's biggest artists.
That sensation is absent from A Hundred Days Off, their first album since 1999's disappointing Beaucoup Fish and the departure of member Darren Emerson.
The single Two Months Off is glorious, a mass of shifting electronic textures and exuberant, repetitious vocals.

A Hundred Days Off is less hard pounding dance tracks than past efforts and high art concept work.
The first single, and rightfully so in many respects, is "Two Months Off." It reminds listeners of Underworld’s ability to blend electronica together with melodious voices.
It has a slow build up before it’s off into the strong rhythmic kick which has defined their style.

Underworld have always managed to avoid becoming overexposed and being accused of stagnating, A Hundred Days Off demonstrates why and is a welcome return after the slightly disappointing Beaucoup Fish.
A Hundred Days Off is the usual mix of frantically fast and pumping techno we have come to both love and expect from Underworld.
Hyde and Smith have made their comeback in style; A Hundred Days Off is their best album since Dubnobasswithmyheadman and it was well worth the wait.

Choler Magazine Album Review: Underworld -- A Hundred Days Off
A Hundred Days Off continues Underworld's streak of instant dance music classics, making the group something like the Cal Ripken Jr.
The album's first single, "Two Months Off," is already a smash, having wormed its way onto summer party set lists as a white label long before its official release - and with good reason.
But if the band can pull of on stage what it just pulled off on record, the transformation will be complete: Underworld - a two-man job, a hundred days off, and an undeniable impulse to just keep on dancing.

'A Hundred Days Off' is a form of re-birth for Hyde and Smith, both in terms of music and attitude.
Feeling good has been sanctioned." There were early nerves as they began a new era as a duo, but as they found from live performances, the fans were as devoted to the Underworld sound as ever.
'Two Months Off' is the first single release and it's a monster of a tune that you want to continue forever, best thing is there's nine glorious minutes of it here, as Karl chants repeatedly "You bring light in".

 Underworld, A Hundred Days Off - smh.com.au
Underworld lucked in, or out, depending on your take, with the one-off hit Born Slippy, which was featured in Trainspotting (you may remember the "lager, lager, lager" chorus) and threatened to define them at the party boys end of the electronic world.
A Hundred Days Off is in some ways a compromise between dubnobass/Second Toughest and Beaucoup.
In typical Underworld fashion, Two Months Off comes slowly but inexorably, continuing to build even after it explodes in the kind of euphoric chorus ("you bring light in, you bring light in") that will kick in the Es for the glow-stick wavers.

I should mention that there are a few minor differences, some of which may be slightly off-putting to those who have been with them from what most people recognize as their first 'real' album as a trio (Dubnobasswithmyheadman).
Whereas their first two releases delved a lot more into the darker side of things, it was also on the aforementioned Beaucoup Fish that they lightened up a lot in terms of overall mood.
A Hundred Days Off is simply the next step in the evolving group, and it's another excellent one.

BBC - Dance Review - Underworld, A Hundred Days Off
That said, A Hundred Days Off doesn't follow that trend of being significantly different from the last album as per the contrasts between Dubnobasswithmyheadman and Second Toughest In The Infants.
This is the soundtrack to their return and ascension, a hymn to their triumphs and the ultimate reward for those who have had their fingers, toes, arms, legs and souls crossed in the hope that we would be blessed with another Underworld record.
A Hundred Days Off Isn't a bad Underworld album, but it isn't a great one either it starts plainly and dribbles into nothing at the end.

You could sense the knives being sharpened as Underworld limbered up for their fourth album (fifth if you include the rather patchy live set of a couple of years back).
When this was followed by the departure of Darren Emerson, the band looked to have reached a creative dead end.
For while 'A Hundred Days Off' may lack some of the raw, vital energy of 'Second Toughest In The Infants' it is, in many ways a more rounded, satisfying album than anything that Karl Hyde and Rick Smith have produced before.

Underworld may have called their latest CD "A Hundred Days Off," but the title should in no way imply that these guys are slackers.

Tower Records - A Hundred Days Off - Underworld   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-26)
On A HUNDRED DAYS OFF, the band's first release as the duo of Karl Hyde & Rick Smith (DJ Darren Emerson left to pursue solo projects) since their first couple records, Underworld crafts its usual synthesis of many styles from many eras.
Hyde and Smith's music has always hearkened back to their early days in the new-wave '80s, but has also always incorporated elements of punk, psychedelic, ambient, trance, etc. into a sound poppy yet by no means simplistic, readily digestable yet far from disposable.
The good news is that the departure of DJ Darren Emerson, who helped transform Underworld from a mediocre "modern rock" group into one of the world's best-known dance acts, has had minimal impact on the band's music.

 NME.COM - Reviews - Underworld : A Hundred Days Off
The loss of Darren is clearly a weight off Karl and Rick's shoulders (the last studio album 'Beaucoup Fish' was the sound of passive-aggressive emails bouncing between three iMacs), but don't think it's all flopsy bunnies round these parts now.
'A Hundred Days Off' (named after the amount of time Rick's kids wanted to have off school) strains with tension, darkness, weirdness, things found in drawers that shouldn't be there, and violence.
At a time when certain parts of the dance industry are planning on bringing in a ban on old men getting within three feet of a sampler in a desparate attempt to kick some life into a flagging scene, Underworld prove that you're only as old as the technology you use.

And "A Hundred Days Off" is no exception.
"Little Speaker" starts off with some quirky notes and random-sounding snippets of a woman talking, but it builds up to a beautiful set of piano notes and warm synth pads.
From out of nowhere comes "Trim", a wonderful and totally unorthodox song that blends upbeat lyrics like "join in at a high spot and ride, put on some smile, and stay for awhile" with a foot-tapping beat and twangy slide guitar.
