	Jason Doucette - World Records - 196 Palindrome Quest, Most Delayed Palindromic Number
		This new world record beats the old world record that has stood for about 3 years (set by my program sometime between November 1999 to August 2000; the exact date was never recorded) which was the 15 digit number 100,120,849,299,260 which resolves into a 92 digit palindrome in 201 iterations.
		It is lower than the number that we expected could be the potential record (14,200,033,399,975,995), and it is on a different thread (series of numbers that are formed by the reversal-addition iteration), as the resultant palindrome is different from that of the record for 161 iterations.
		This new world record beats the old world record set by my program (with Benjamin Despres' reversal-addition code) 2 years, 143 days ago, which was the 17 digit number 10,442,000,392,399,960 which resolves into a 111 digit palindrome in 236 iterations.

	New Pending World's Record Pronghorn from Oregon (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
		It's official a new world record pronghorn was recently measured following the required sixty-day drying period.
		As the director of the Record Book for Oregon, I have confirmed that Boone and Crockett measurer Glenn Abbott scored the record shattering pronghorn at 94 6/8 B.C. The previous world record was taken in 1985 by Michael J. O'Haco in Arizona and measured 93 4/8.
		In the pronghorn world an inch and two eights is record shattering, in comparison, this is the equivalent of six full inches when measuring Rocky Mountain Elk.

		Because of this we were unable to watch the altimeters spin round and round as the kite ascended.
		To the humor of it, these five men are able to claim that in all recorded history they are the only men who have ever flown a kite by hand for 34 minutes at well over 13000 feet.

	Boeing: Boeing 777-200LR Sets New World Record for Distance
		"The performance of the 777-200LR during the record flight was exceptional," said Suzanna Darcy-Hennemann, the project pilot leader for the 777-200LR record flight.
		For an airplane its size and class, the 777-200LR replaces the distance record set by a 747-400 in 1989 that flew 9,200 nautical miles (17,039 km) nonstop from London to Sydney.

	BCF News - New World Record
		A new World Record was achieved on Saturday (21st February) at Wellington College Crowthorne, by International Chess Master, Andrew Martin, when he played 321 chess players all at the same time.
		The previous world record for the highest number of simultaneous chess games was 310, achieved 8 years ago in Sweden.
		Challengers were asked to raise sponsorship money as their entry into the world record attempt and all received a tee-shirt and certificate to commemorate the part they played in setting the new world record.

		A new world record was set on 9/4 on the very first attempt.
		One attempt at the new formation later in the afternoon proved unsuccessful because one Porter dropped behind the formation.
		Unfortunately, the formation was flown through a large break in the clouds that was accompanied by a lot of turbulence, folding in the row 7 win and the corner of the lower jewel.

		We have just had news from Rusty Vest who is taking part in the record attempts at Lake Wales that a record was set on the second jump today.
		She and her husband Scot came from Martinez, Calif., to participate in the weeklong attempts to break the formation record of 53, which was set in France in 1996.
		For the record attempts, the same 49 jumpers form the base structure of the formation, but some substitutes are used to complete the pattern.

		On Saturday, 6 November 1999, 19 bell-ringers set a world record in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, at 4.00 pm when they rang, together, all 19 bells now in place in the tower.
		The establishment of this world record follows the installation of seven new bells to mark the new millennium in addition to the peal of 12 bells already there.
		The ringing of the record was shared by ringers from all over Ireland and was part of a day of celebration to mark the acquisition of the new bells.

		On a warm summer's night on one of the fastest tracks in the world, the 22-year-old beat Tim Montgomery's previous record of 9.78 set in Paris in September 2002 to become the fastest man ever over the distance.
		Powell earlier this week had said he would take a shot at the record during the Athens super grand prix at the stadium which hosted Summer Olympics last year and where American Maurice Greene also set a new 100 metres mark in 1999.

		Take the world record for the fastest 100M dash, or the fastest mile, or the long jump...these records are most definitely not broken year after year, but when they are, it is truly a momentous event.

	Blade Polished by David Hofhine Breaks World Record!
		On Saturday, April 22nd of 2000, a blade that I polished and sharpened was used to break a world Senbongiri target cutting record by Russell McCartney, Soke of Ishi Yama Ryu.
		The record breaking attempt was part of the 25th annual Seattle Cherry Blossom and Japanese Cultural Festival.
		I prepared the blade for the record breaking cuts with special techniques I have developed over the years specifically for tameshi-giri swords.

	New World Record For longest Flight
		The Global Flyer holds the record, and I think they're going to fly it again in the near future to set an even better record.
		This new flight would be the longest for a commercial airliner.
		For instance with the 707 came out in the 60's it (in effect) shrank the world to 1/6's it's size for travel of that era.

		In the paper today I read an article stating that there was a new world record elk taken with a bow in alberta.
		Hands down he is the top elk bow hunter in the world and holds a couple of other world record animals as well.
		The Utah rifle state record NT elk was just shot Dec 21'st. Less than 6 miles from the city no less.
