  A night to remember
But A night to remember is a docu-drama on an epic scale, a film which stirs the emotions while you are watching it and haunts the memory thereafter.
It is possible to view A night to remember in the same way, as a 1950s British film typical of these qualities – "good taste, restraint and reticence"-whilst also acknowledging that the film still utilises the over-arching dramatic structure of melodrama and many of the dramatic devices associated with this mode including pathos.
Richards's analysis of A night to remember from the point of view of "nation", "gender", "religion" and "ethnicity" is less convincing as it appears imposed rather than flowing logically from the overall film.

A Night To Remember may not have sold as well as its predecessors, but the fact that two artists saw fit to cover songs from here shows the impact this album had.
In the case of "A Night to Remember", I would classify this as more of a loose concept album that is theme-based.
"I Drove All Night": Definitely deals with the theme of a "A Night to Remember" as Cyndi recalls an all-night drive for a rendezvous with her boyfriend.

 A Night to Remember Plot
This is no where more apparent than in the scene where, as the ship is sinking, some steerage passengers are told to find another way to the boat deck because they can not go through the first-class hallway.
This is an excellent, truthful and historically accurate tale of heroism, the power of nature, and a ship that was doomed to tragedy.
Although many movies wither in comparison to the book from which they were adapted, A Night to Remember, written by Walter Lord, does an excellent job of portraying the fascinating events of that late night and early morning of April 14 and 15, 1912.

The book A Night to Remember by Walter Lord is an exciting educational learning experience reliving the night of April 14, 1912, the night the Luxurious Liner Titanic sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
For example upon discovering the wreck of the Titanic at the bottom of the Atlantic in 1985 it was clear that the Titanic had indeed broken in half and rested upon the sea bed in two halves.
As anybody who has seen the 1958 film "A Night To Remember" will realise this book presents the ship as sinking whole, which was not the case.

Often movies that try to stay close to the facts suffer from a lack of focus, especially when there is/are no central character(s) to hold things together.
In this adaptation of "A Night to Remember", they solved the problem by focusing much of the action around Second Officer Lightoller, who was involved in some way in so many different aspects of what happened.
As a device it works well, and there is enough action involving the other characters to keep it balanced.
