 | | October really is festival month, with the Moonbird Festival at Port Fairy early in the month, and the Victorian Championships, held at Ballarat, generally at the end of the month. |
 | | In excess of 600 kites are expected to be in the air that night, with some 400 local school children making their own kites, together with each class producing a kite train, the kites made by visitors during the festival, all in addition to the spectacular performance and stunt kites flown by the professionals. |
