One of Norfolk's main trunk routes - the A11 - is to be completely made into a dual carriageway, it has been announced.
The Transport Minister, David Jamieson has released details of the preferred routes to dual the two remaining sections of the road between Cambridgeshire and Norwich.
The two proposed schemes announced on Thursday are the Attleborough bypass and the Fiveways roundabout to Thetford.

Yesterday, at the end of my road at it's junction with the A11, there was a KMX125 with the front forks bent back so the wheel was touching the downpipes, and a Ford Fiesta parked in our road with a sizeable dent in its front wing.
This junction has been a real problem - last year they installed pedestrian crossing lights maybe 20 yards up the road (A11) from the junction, and the railings now obscure the view up the road from the side turning As a newly installed feature insufficient thought seems to have been given to its siting.
The road is currently a 40mph - this is the second accident involving bikes in the vicinity of this junction.

The A11 Attleborough Bypass Improvement involves the widening of the existing single carriageway bypass to form a new section of dual carriageway, which would connect the Roudham Heath to Attleborough dual carriageway with existing dual carriageway east of Attleborough.
The road carries a substantial volume of traffic throughout the year, particularly during the summer months due to traffic heading for the holiday areas of Norfolk.
Upgrading the A11 to dual carriageway was first considered by central government in 1989, and became a government priority in 1999.

The government has delegated a decision on widening the A11 in Norfolk and Suffolk to a new regional transport agency which they are to set up.
Work on widening one of the region's busiest roads is now not likely to start until 2008 at the earliest.

A diversion was put in place via the old A11 road and fire fighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the woman at about 11am.
