		The A2 is hefty enough, and feels all-of-a-piece, but is just not quite in the top ranks when it comes to the materials used on the body.
		The A2 is not the first Minolta camera to feature this, but it's the first one that I've used, and it's a joy.
		With the A2 you can take up to three frames in rapid succession before you are prevented from continuing shooting, but just as with a DSLR, as soon as the buffer has cleared enough space you can take another frame.

		The A2 absolute encoder is a non-contacting optical rotary position sensor which reports the shaft angle within a 360° range.
		As opposed to incremental encoders, the A2 reports the absolute position rather than the change in position.
		The analog versions of the A2 have a 12-bit DAC on the output which feeds to 2 lines that are otherwise used for the BUSY handshaking pair.

		Essentially this camera is identical to the A1 apart from its sensor, the DiMAGE A1 had a 5 megapixel 2/3" type CCD, the new DiMAGE A2 has an 8 megapixel 2/3" type CCD.
		That said the DiMAGE A2 brings a lot more to the table than some of the other eight megapixel digital cameras, most notably it's Anti Shake technology which is uniquely implemented by applying stabilization to the CCD instead of a lens element, two actuators compensating for horizontal and vertical movement of the camera (see below).
		The A2 also has a wide angle zoom lens and that lovely mechanically linked zoom mechanism which makes for quick and accurate zoom with a more 'SLR like' feel.
