	A3000 Ethernet to Serial Converter
		The included software automatically finds A3000 devices in the network and allows the converter to be configured via WEB browser or the serial port.
		There are several ways to use an A3000 with DGH modules.

	HoM: Computers: A3000
		This is the A3000, a later, cut down version of the earlier A300/400 ranges.
		The A3000 came originally with RISC OS 2 and 1MB of memory; this machine has been upgraded to RISC OS 3.1 (the four chips bottom-left-ish) and 4MB of memory (between the processor and the floppy drive - it flaps slightly, causing the machine to hang and refuse to restart until it's fixed).
		As you can see, this upgrade was achieved using a daughterboard which has the unfortunate side effect of raising the chip somewhat (hence the ill-fitting case).

		The A3000 is regarded by some Amiga fans as the best model ever made, but they generally forget about the A3000T and A4000T which actually offer a lot more.
		The A3000 has a SCSI-II controller (WDC33C93) on the motherboard which is much faster than the standard IDE Controller that was supplied with the A4000 and other models.
		The A3000 is one of the few models of Amigas which actually has some NVRAM, primarily for storing the configuration settings of the SCSI controller, such as Controller ID, SCSI bus timeout, Synchronous mode and LUNs.

		The A3000, also known as the Commodore Amiga 3000, was a much more serious proposition to build a professional multimedia computer than the previous A2000 effort.
		An enhanced version with the AGA chipset and an AT&T DSP chip was produced to prototype stage but never launched, instead Commodore replaced the A3000 with the A4000, which was in many ways an inferior machine.
		The A3000 designation was also used on an Acorn Archimedes model.

		Of course, A3000, being a hardware RAID device, has its own volume management (called RAID Manager), and presents logical volumes to the host.
		That said, there are circumstances and reasons why you would want to use a host-based volume manager on top of that, and you are free to do so.

		This set-up is apparently intended to make sample editing easier but I'm used to more conventional samplers and the A3000 system just grated on my nerves and made multi-sampling a total nightmare to manage.
		Sound-wise, it all came across as very plastic, especially the effects, the wackier of which were obviously designed to mainly to impress in the shop but the filters and just the general sound of the machine were also somehow unsatisfying.
		Finally, note that the A3000 came in two versions the V1 (which I had) and the V2, which had more filter types, a per-program LFO, more modulation destinations and more flexible effects routing.
