  SABRE - Road Lists - Roads by 10 - A316
However, the roads never materialised as the grand plans for London's major roads were dropped, and the flyover lives on (apparently its intended lifespan was five years!).
The next bit of the A316 is a narrow bendy road (Burlington Lane) skirting the grounds of Chiswick House.
The road is dual 2-lane at this point, until Manor Circus, the next major junction, which is quite a small roundabout made busier by the hulking great Sainsbury's next to it.

Having once lived in Ashford (nestled between the A30 and A316) that stretch of road is extremely familiar to me. Heading south-west from town, the section offers glimpses of urban motorway...teasing with gantry signage, flyovers and three 70mph lanes and the 'are we at the M3 yet?' factor.
A short way to the west, on the south side of the road, are a row of almond trees and as children we would go and collect and eat the almonds in season.
