| | Salisbury Transport 2000 Statement to Dibden Bay Terminal Inquiry (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-24) |
 | | Much of the road is single carriageway, it passes through built-up districts within Salisbury, Wilton, South Newton, Stoford and Stapleford, and in many instances there are houses fronting directly onto the road, separated from the traffic flow by only a few feet of pavement. |
 | | In December 2000 it was announced that the A36 would be detrunked.[5] However, this matter is still being disputed, since objections were raised by the South West Regional Assembly, and the extent to which detrunking will lead to a decrease in strategic north-south traffic on this route is a matter of some debate. |
 | | The road schemes in question are the Harnham Relief Road, where a Planning Application is due to be submitted in September 2002, and the Wylye Valley Relief Road, where work is currently ongoing on route options. |
