  LNER A4 class
Sir Nigel Gresley introduced the famous A4 class locomotive in 1935 to pull a new train called the Silver Jubilee, between London King's Cross and Newcastle, in celebration of King George V's 25th year of reign.
The A4 pacifics were designed for low consumption of coal and water on all kinds of services; passenger and freight.
The A4 class locomotives were known to train spotters as "streaks".

LNER Class A4 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The A4 pacifics (with the 4-6-2 wheel arrangement) were designed for low consumption of coal and water on all kinds of services; passenger and freight.
The Class A4 locomotives were known affectionately by train spotters as "streaks".
A similar animated A4 was seen in the opening credits of the ITV programme The South Bank Show, in which it is seen at the head of a Pullman train racing beneath Marilyn Monroe's skirts.

LNER Class A4 4468 Mallard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Number 4468 Mallard is a London and North Eastern Railway Class A4 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive built in the 1930s by the LNER and designed by Sir Nigel Gresley in Doncaster, England.
Mallard was the perfect vehicle for such an endeavour; one of the A4 class of streamlined locomotives designed for sustained 100+ mph (160 km/h) running, it was one of a small number equipped with a double chimney and double Kylchap blastpipe, which made for improved draughting and better exhaust flow at speed.
The A4's three-cylinder design made for better stability at speed, and the large 6 ft 8 in (2.032 m) driving wheels meant that the maximum revolutions per minute was within the capabilities of the technology of the day.

The A4 pacifics (with the 4-6-2 wheel arrangement) were designed for high-speed passenger services.
At the end of the record attempt, the middle big end (part of the motion for the inside cylinder) was found to have run hot, the bearing metal having melted, which meant that the locomotive had to stop at Peterborough rather than continue on to London.
A4 No.4498 was the hundredth Gresley pacific to be built and someone had the idea of naming it after the designer himself, which was a nice gesture.

Which is why we went all bilious upon learning of Audi's intention to "correct" its dandy A4 with a heavily revised, second-generation effort.
For the next few months, car spotters will be able to pick out the 2002 A4 only by dint of its slightly more angular trunklid and taillights.
And subtle touches abound: rubber-lined storage drawers beneath the front seats, illuminated rear footwells, a tiny three-spoke leather wheel like something out of a DTM racer, and a classy fishnet headliner that flows down the A-, B-, and C-pillars.

But the most exemplary aspect of the new A4 is its Multitronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) – don't call it a gearbox because there are no gears in it.
The A4 used to be regarded as an Alfa Romeo, Saab or Volvo competitor – sure it was European but without the ultimate ability and image of the great German names.

 4-6-4 Information
The 4-6-4 is best seen as combining the basic nature of the 4-6-2 'Pacific' type with an improved boiler and larger firebox that required extra support at the rear of the locomotive.
The world speed record for steam locomotives was at least twice held by a 4-6-4; the Milwaukee Road's class F6 #6402 in 1934 with 103.5 mph, and German 05 002 in 1936 with 124.5 mph (200.4 km/h).
After its rebuild, the W1 was easily distinguishable from an A4 at a glance, without looking for the extra trailing wheels, by the fact that it was never named; it was therefore known to train spotters as "the no-name streak".

Canadian Pacific further asserts that the information it seeks to discover from the Plaintiffs regarding the putative class members is relevant in determining the amount-in-controversy and that its discovery requests are valid given the broad discovery authorized by Rule 26(b) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
