Road users do not always appreciate the speed of oncoming traffic when they commit to overtake and then find that the distance and time they thought was available is fast running out.
Road users will not always be aware of the heavy lorries until the bridge is reached, so as you approach the bridge have a good look.
The final part of the road into Bicester is open but beware of the local traffic as there is a garrison fronting onto the road and there is a lot of military traffic moving to and from various parts of the site.

This 18 mile stretch of road is perhaps one of the most popular roads used by motorcyclists within our force area and has also seen more than its fair share of motorcycle related collisions in recent years.
Road users seem to carry too much speed into these bends especially when leaving Long Crendon, only to realize too late as they enter the first of the bends.
As you leave Oakley, the first part of the road is very twisty with many of the houses fronting on to the road.

The A41 between junction 19 of the M25 and the eastern end of the Tring bypass was opened to traffic in 1993.
The A41 is signposted for Moxley and Wednesbury.
The road follows quite a pleasant urban route out of the city here, with highlights such as the Halfway House pub, which is supposedly half way between London and Holyhead (follow the A41, A464 and A5 for the route!), and The Rock, which is a large ridge that the road cuts through.

The A51 used to begin at Boughton, where it joined the A41 at a fork, but since the A41 was bypassed around the city (before the War?) - the Christleton Road becoming the A5115 - the A51 has continued further into the city.
The road goes up past the King Edward VI School and curves to the left where the A5206 arrives with traffic from the A38.
At a roundabout the road goes right, alongside the new estate at Coton, and would go into the centre of Tamworth were it not for two new bridges which have been built to take the road south, back over the river, to meet the A453 and A5.

Re the yellow motorway: Until the road was extended south, the eastern slips on the GSJ at the east end of the motorway were closed.
If you drive the old A41 (A4251) there is a fence heading off towards the road at an angle and a gate left on the main road, though it appears the slip road has now been grassed over.
There were slip roads built from the roundabout on both sides in the Watford direction but the southbound on slip was never used until the new A41 was brought into use.
