Road Traffic Technology - Millau Viaduct - France
The seven piers of the Millau Viaduct are sunk in shafts of reinforced concrete in a pyramidal shape, being divided in an overturned V, and the shrouds are anchored and distributed in semi harps.
A straight road could induce a sensation of floating for drivers, which a slight curve remedies.
Moreover, the road has a light incline of 3% to improve the visibility and reassure the driver.

BRIAN GREGORY HAMILTON v. DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL, 14 July 2006, Lord Kingarth
One of these lengths of road was the disputed section of road, which ran to the northwest of the new bypass, together with a short further section at its southern end (of about 8 metres) which extended right to the edge of the new A75.
In the event, however, once the A75 bypass was completed the 8 metre section at the southern end of the relevant length of road was grassed over and did physically stop up that part of the B724 at it southern end.
Indeed, as counsel expressly accepted, the petitioner's sole interest in the disputed section of road is to exploit his claimed ownership of the solum for financial gain, effectively using it as a ransom strip.

Invoking 9-9 is an all-else-has-failed action that IMHO would only be used if you had a team repeeatedly committing fouls, inciting fights, behaving in ways that would result in disciplinary action from higher authorities such as school boards or state organizations, or leaving the field in protest.
We all know it is illegal to hand the ball forward and when the handoff is dropped by A75 it is after an illegal act and there should be a flag and no way should the offense benefit from an illegal act.

The A75 is an autoroute (motorway) in France.
Known also as la Méridienne, it is a developmental project with the aim of speeding up and reducing the cost of car travel from Paris southwards, and apart from the Millau Viaduct, it is entirely free for the 340 km (210 miles) between Clermont-Ferrand and Pézenas, with extension planned to Béziers.
In May 2007, construction started on the final section of the A75, which will see it connected to the A9 autoroute a kilometre or so east of the Béziers east intersection 35.

The majority of the road is of single-carriageway standard, although a few short dual-carriageway sections exist, including the one mile section past Gretna, the section past Collin (just east of Dumfries) and also a two mile section just west of Dumfries, which opened in 1999 to replace the old wooded route.

N is for No Surrender, the old French attitude to traffic lights, speed limits and anything else that interfered with their God-given right to thunder through the road network, killing themselves in prodigious quantities.
So observe the limits (56mph normal roads, 68mph dual carriageways, 81mph motorways), adjust your headlight dip, remember that STOP means stop (not "inch forward slowly") and that you shouldn't have under-10s in the front seat or under-18s behind the wheel.

The road starts just north of the England/Scotland border at what is now junction 22 of the A74(M), forming a short dual-carriageway northern bypass for the village of Gretna, which runs parallel to the railway line.
Here it runs parallel to an unclassified road known as the "Old Military Road" (was this the original route of the A75?), with a roundabout close to Lochfoot before the A712 junction at Crocketford or Nine Mile Bar.
This means that this road during its length ranges from motorway to dual carriageway to single carriageway.

The main road now runs about a mile south of the village, making it a much more tranquil place than it used to be.
But Gatehouse of Fleet itself owes its origins to the predecessor of the modern A75, the military road built by James VI/I in the years after 1610 from Carlisle to Portpatrick, intended to help his large scale settlement of Ulster by Scottish Protestants.

There is none of the original alignment of the A75 for 5 miles to the west of Dumfries numbered as the A75 as the point where the Dumfries Bypass stops is the same point as where the Cargen-Glen improvements begin.
Its quite a shock for the A75 drivers heading east because there have been little improvements to the old route beond the end of the bypass so to go from a fast open single carriageway to a narrower one is strange.

The evidence of the importance to the town of the through traffic across south west Scotland is clear from the presence of a number of large hotels whose origins obviously lay in the coaching days of the early 1800s.
