  Review: ASUS A7V motherboard
The A7V Sturmpanzerwagen certainly looked imposing, but it had many shortcomings which rendered it a relatively ineffective weapon.
Between the processor socket and the rear ports, the A7V has this secondary board with the capacitors, chokes and regulators used to keep the CPU power supply smooth.
Future production runs of the A7V (at least, if places like this are to be believed) will have the switches, but may not have the built in sound.

 ASUS A7V v1.01 - Socket A multiplier tweaking!
The Alpha clip is a little fiddly, but it engages well, holds the cooler firmly, and does not encourage the chip to engage in an atavistic return to a sand-like state.
The only DIP switches you need to fool with to change the A7V multiplier are the six-switch block next to the first IDE controller's connectors.
And the A7V may be the first of the multiplier-adjust motherboards to hit the market, but it's got all the features most users are likely to need.

Although you may not appreciate it when you shop around Dell, Tiny and the like, the motherboard upon which your PC is based is intrinsically important to the future upgrade paths available to you, and its overall performance.
The A7V includes an extra back panel allowing a further three USB ports, bringing the total available to users to five.
There are a few, but not to the degree of intricacy seen on the A7V, which features options from 95 to 145 in very regular steps, allowing for any one of a hundred variations.

With this concept in mind, one could conclude that the new A7V133 BIOS could be effectively utilized with the original A7V motherboard.

 A7V Troubleshooting : RD1 BIOS Savior
A problem with all A7V versions (even up to A7V333) that unfortunately is not uncommon, is malfunction after flashing BIOSes.
In the special case of the ASUS A7V Series (from the classic A7V to the A7V333) there have been a lot of cases in the forum where flashing seemed to have been OK, but after reboot there was nothing but a fl screen.
While some of these cases could be resolved by clearing the CMOS, setting the multiplier or frequency DIP switches to undocumented settings or changing the CPU, many had to have their BIOS reprogrammed or the mainboard exchanged by their dealer.

The A7V Überlandwagen supply carrier was built on the chassis of the famous German A7V Sturmpanzerwagen, the first and only German tank to see operational service in the First World War.
The A7V Sturmpanzerwagen had a box-like enveloping superstructure but when it was first conceived the design committee also made allowance for the chassis to be fitted with an alternative load carrier body.
A total of 30 A7V Überlandwagen (“Over-land vehicle” as the supply carrier version was called) was projected but not all were completed before the war ended.
