During the war, the ABC's news bulletins attained a reputation for authority and independence, and from 1942 onwards, were broadcast three times daily through all national and most commercial transmitters.
In 1975, colour television was introduced in Australia, and within a decade, the ABC had moved into satellite broadcasting, greatly enhancing its ability to serve as a national broadcaster.
ABC Local Radio, a collection of stations that broadcast local information some of the time, state based information and sport more of the time, and national programming some of the time.

A Harvard-affiliated academic institute studying the Big Dig has uncovered a behind-the-scenes lobbying campaign by a high-powered Boston business group that says it persuaded US Senator John F. Kerry to silence his criticisms of cost overruns and also planted an operative in the 1990 campaign of then-gubernatorial candidate John Silber.
Among the leaders of ABC are Norman Leventhal, his son Alan Leventhal, and his son-in-law Edwin Sidman, all of whom have considerable clout with Democratic leaders.
The ABC group and its members raised $100,000 at a "big-time lunch," Leventhal is quoted.

The good folks over at the ABC’s Dig operation (radio over the Internet) invited me along to the media event for the launch last night of their new country channel because the manager, Tony Walker, noticed on the heading of this blog that I’m also a fan of alt country.
I’ve got a lot of admiration for DIG and for the ABC’s digital efforts overall, including podcasting as I mentioned in a recent article I did on blogging and podcasting in Australia.
It was a great night at the Vanguard in Newtown last night with a concert by one of Australia’s great bands The Flood, which was recorded by the ABC and will be replayed on Radio National this friday at 7pm and Sunday 4pm on their popular ‘live on stage’ show.

I think the channels you're missing are 200 - ABC DiG Radio, 301 and 302 (or close to) - SBS RADIO.
