This action (for declaratory relief that a record released in 1938-39 is in the public domain) was filed after La Cienega but before the amendment.
Sixteen were recorded in a November 1936 session, and, after the 1936 recordings were successfully distributed by Vocalion Records, Johnson returned to the studio in June 1937 to record 13 more songs including Love in Vain and Stop Breakin' Down.
Nowhere does the report indicate that Congress considered records as anything but a component part of a machine, capable of reproducing an original composition, or that Congress intended records, as renderings of original artistic performance, to be free from state control.

In many cases you want a certian number of hit songs by the artist in question, but feel that the purchase of all of their albums would be expensive and counter-productive.
Plus it's cheaper for the record company in question to make one CD of select songs instead of making more "remastered" copies of older albums that may never sell.
Abcko and Virgin (their current label) finally got together to do this release.

Surely the record labels are not going to put a sticker on the shrink wrap to tell you!.....In the recent past, there have been a couple of labels that have reissued newly-found stereo tapes.
Say you have a 4-track recorder and want to add a tambourine to the left and a bass guitar to the right or cymbals or whatever so that a mono recording now has something to the left and right.
I don't have the recording and I don't remember if this addition was mixed wide to make it a stereo recording or not but no one complained too much at the time about it.

The Stones were signed to ABCKO Records originally, they jumped from them in 1970.
ABCKO decided to shove most of their Stones content onto CD's, but at that time the process was far from perfect and most of these releases were considered terrible.

The refreshing part in listening to "Beware of ABCKO" is that most of the songs George Demos are for the most part, finished works.
It is obvious that the master tapes were used to produce this recording.
I was given a tape of it first and liked it so much I found a CD of it (one of the last bootleg cds I was able to buy) at a record fair a few years back.

Personally, I find the mono or electronically reprocessed stereo records to be absolutely pathetic when compared to the real thing.
But the fact is, the original Cameo-Parkway recordings have NOT been licensed and released on CD to my knowledge (at least not in the US, and probably not worldwide).

One of the best known bands to arrive in America during the height of the British Invasion was a Newcastle, England band called The Animals.
Their first hit record, and it was a big hit, was "The House Of The Rising Sun".

Established in 2004 in Gothenburg Sweden, Crusher Records is intent on spreading "great psychedelic garage rock and roll sounds all over the world" and with their first batch of releases they are certainly well on their way.
And sure enough, American Laundromat Records is a very cool indie label with a lot of great stuff in addition to the aforementioned "High School Reunion" (put together with another previously spotlighted record label Face Down Records).
With labels like ProgRock Records, the progressive rock genre (which incedentaly nobody seems to be able to adequately describe to my tastes) is moving along quite well and there are some truly interesting bands out there combining everything from fusion and jazz to alternative rock and the blues.

After this one, the Stones got into the studio enough and produced new tracks so that they were able to exert at least some influence on their releases from here on out.
From the screaming hysteria of the live tracks to the occasionally off key vocal 'harmonies' to the Byrds' California 'folk-rock' influence, "December's Children's" is as haywire and vital as the Stones' lives and experiences must have felt in the fall of 1965.

Newcastle's entry in the British Invasion burned brightly and briefly, officially disbanding in 1968, but the heart of the unit had been pierced in 1965, barely a year after the original five members began recording, when co-founder and multi-instrumentalist Alan Price quit.
This ABCKO compilation was originally released around the time of Price's departure.
It features a respectable sampling of the greatest hits of The Animals' first lineup, from their signature hit version of "House Of the Rising Sun" and the oft-covered gem "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," to their brilliant take on Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home To Me."

The Rolling Stones: Rock and Roll Circus
Buried for years after its December 11-12, 1968 filming, rumors circulated that the Stones — Jagger in particular - were unsatisfied with their performance and junked it because The Who upstaged them.
It is probably this situation that led to Tull’s use of a prerecorded backing track and only flautist Ian Anderson was recorded live.
Whether that conveys even more adrenaline from the quartet and lessens a powerful set from the Stones, two things remain clear: Abcko Records knows how to throw a party regardless of the decade, and “The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus” is priceless.
