AC is the English company that designed and built the car, pre-Shelby with straight-six engines.
AC wrote the only Chassis Instruction Book, called the car an "A. Cobra", and had the book printed by F.J. Milner and Sons, Brentfore and London, England.

AC made the cobra body, over in england.
the 427 Cobras used barely ANY AC parts (the dashboard, some interior pieces, and the pedals, and that's about it), and since Shelby was the manufacturer, it had nothing to do with AC.
