The pros are that you not only capture on tape things that may slip your mind later, or that you miss in the excitement of the moment (or anxiety) but also important information that you may not fully understand at the time and after hearing it repeatedly, you can begin to grasp the significance.
I have 2 children with ADHD, my youngest who is 9 is on an IEP because he has some speech problems also.
