		The first seeds of Magen David Adom in Israel were planted at a meeting held in Philadelphia in October 1918, attended by David Ben-Gurion, Golda Meir and Henrietta Szold.
		A Magen David Adom organization was organized to aid both the Jewish Legion and the settlers in Palestine.
		Magen David Adom was officially chartered as a result of the murderous riots of 1929, when farm and urban settlements - totaling some 170,000 of the country's Jewish population - were attacked by the Arab population, and were found to be lacking in even the most elementary first aid services.

		ADOM has it's own calendar and zodiac, and hence being born under each star sign has different effects.
		Instead of the usual six attributes that your character is determined by, ADOM has Strength, Learning, Willpower, Dexterity, Toughness, Charisma, Appearance, Mana and Perception.
		Everything is hard coded into the ADOM executable, so any changes that a user would wish to make would have to be performed on the source code, and then the game would have to be recompiled.

		ADOM appeals to me more because it involves less of the fiddling around with tedious inventories and statistics, letting you get on with the questing and killing.
		Most deaths do tend to be some sort of learning experience, like a hint that a particular type of creature is something you really shouldn't eat, or that you really shouldn't be in a particular dungeon this early in your career, or that you really shouldn't hang around for long in a particular place.
		But having said that his time is obviously finite and the number of e-mails he receives about ADOM is rather huge, so the best avenues of support are usually sources other than the author.
