	AFI (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		AFI was formed in 1991 by Davey Havok (vocals), Mark Stopholese (guitar), Vic Chalker (bass) and Adam Carson (drums) as a hardcore punk outfit.
		Kresge left AFI and the spot was filled by Hunter Burgan in 1997, and Stopholese was replaced by Jade Puget in 1998.
		AFI formed in 1991 while the members were attending high school in Ukiah, California.

		There is the standard AFI rousing ending with an infectiously melodic cry/scream, “This is my life/This is eternal” on the closing track, “But Home is Nowhere.” Havok’s lyrics are as dark and curiously ambiguous as they have always been.

	afi Mp3 Albums Review
		Since AFI had spent years in the underground expanding their fan base and appeal to ridiculous heights, it was only a matter of time before a cd of this nature surfaced.
		It's a shame AFI refuses to play their older music such as the material on this album and really anything before Sing The Sorrow, as if the music is inferior to the new when in reality it's by far superior and is what made the band what they are today.
		So while AFI may have forgotten their roots you don't have too so this is highly recommended to anyone who is reading this.

		AFI ("A Fire Inside") is a scathing hardcore punk outfit from Northern California whose music generally evokes a tearing open of flesh and spilling out of viscera.
		That said, the band is talented and adventuresome, taking violent hardcore aggression as the foundation and incorporating other moods and styles, thus making their music considerably more interesting than typical monotone hardcore punk expressions of rage and disenfranchisement.
		AFI's vision is decidedly bleak, making them a challenge to listen to, but if you're up for it, it's a satisfying cathartic experience.

		Then when AFI let out their opening guitar strums and the band started chanting the opening lines to "strength through wounding" it was utter silence from that crew of degenerates.
		The latter was especially creepy because they played it at the end of the show and I was becoming scared of the imminent presence of walking out of the venue into the slummy DC neighborhood outside.
		I have to give Fritch a shout-out because he does a lot of the behind the scenes work for AFI and the fact that you can buy the latest AFI album, The Art Of Drowning, at the merch table for five bucks is something that you would expect from a punk show in 1989.
