AFL News from Johnson- February 19, 2001   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
AFL Chief Executive Officer Wayne Jackson said the new arrangement was a major step forward for the AFL as it elevates the league’s long-term relationship with CUB to another level that will help further the growth of the code on a national basis.
He said the agreement reached between the AFL and CUB was for four years, commencing in the 2001 season, with further options to extend at the conclusion of the contract.
Sources say that the AFL was closing in on CUB regarding a new naming rights sponsorship deal, which will take effect from Round 1 of the 2001 season, and expires at the end of the 2006 season, at the same time as the new broadcast deal.
