AG Barr, the Scottish drinks company, admitted yesterday that it could lose the right to produce Orangina because the brand's owner, Pernod Ricard, has agreed to sell it to Coca-Cola.
Barr's finance director, George MacLaren, said he had no idea what would happen: "The whole thing is up for speculation." The company is confident that it will get "substantial compensation" if the existing contract is broken.
