As the Coordinator for AGAST, Sandra has spoken at International SIDS Conferences in Norway, Austria, Ireland and France as well as numerous State SIDS conferences spreading the word "there is help for grieving grandparents".
Initially assisted by her sister, Vicky Dillavou, and a grant of $2,000.00 from the State of Illinois SIDS Director, Lori Bennett, AGAST has grown to over 1,500 grandparents.
AGAST has expanded its focus to include ALL grieving grandparents merging Alliance of Grandparents, A Support in Tragedy, side by side with Alliance of Grandparents Against SIDS Tragedy.

And a couple of years later, after she had covered some of her own ground on this grief journey, she went back to AGAST to offer her volunteer services doing outreach for them.
AGAST has a website that has recently launched Forums -- not very active yet, but as grandparents discover that resource, I'm sure they will utilize those as a support tool.

As for AGAST, I haven't learned it as much as the others, but judging from some games(ozzy and the quantum playwright and others), it is goddamn buggy.
Agast has a path area editor, so if that's what having an IDE means...

I would use AGAST or AGS, or whatever was decided as the best tool.
The only thing is that I would have to learn how to program in one of the two, which would probably take a month or so...

Its demonstration game convinced me that AGAST had, or would eventually have, everything I needed to do my game.
Due to AGAST bugs, it lacked most of the music.
I updated the game a little, but the sound bugs were still there.

The iSB now correctly manages scene transitions although since Java Swing amalgamates repaint() calls together individual button behaviour is not shown as the scene changes aswell.

Both AGAST and SLUDGE at the moment (or at least last I heard) use directdraw (software rendering, well actually ddraw isn't software rendering come to think of it, but almost every video card, even old ones have 2d hardware blitting via ddraw).
And in fact the guy that's writing the rendering code for AGAST is stating that the future versions of AGAST will require d3d.
Which means that he wants some compensation for his work (which I think is fine, however you don't go telling people your not in it for the money and yet still charge for it).

BTW, the reason that I've been looking for these creators, I suppose, is because I grew up playing adventure games...
It's a fan built game that is using AGAST (at least I think it is).
AGAST is an excellent tool for making adventure games, but it lacks visual editors, so if you're looking for an easy "drag and drop" wizard-esque game creation tool, forget AGAST and check out something like AGS, Wintermute, or SLUDGE.

Unfortunately the Amiga is not quite what it used to be, so I went in search of a PC alternative.
After lots of searching I came across AGAST, this was a bit like GRAC in its use of code, and there is the straightforwardness of the program which is very beneficial.
