The ADA was one of the organizations that urged the ASC X12 to initiate the process of developing Implementation Guides for all health care transactions in order to promote uniform implementation of the transactions and obtain widespread acceptance of electronic standards.

Anytime there is an X12 change made, we get the changes from our translation software vendors, so the code will change annually because all the things that make up our transaction sets are used by other industries.
