		A row over Australian Idol contestants not being nominated for sections of this year's ARIA music awards took a new turn yesterday when it was revealed that Idol judge Ian "Dicko" Dickson had not exercised his right to nominate any one for the awards.
		Dickson said he would boycott the awards as a protest, and in a letter to a Sydney newspaper accused the music industry of "rewriting history".
		Of the ARIA voting process, Dickson said: "You'll vote for the buzz band that everybody is talking about, despite the fact that you couldn't hum one of their songs if your life depended on it."

		The popular five-piece band Powderfinger scooped the ARIA music awards last night, taking out four awards for its third, politically tinged album, Internationalist.
