ARIN is a nonprofit service organization that is responsive to the needs of the public it serves.
The ARIN membership elects the Board of Trustees, which has ultimate responsibility for the business affairs and financial health of ARIN, and manages ARIN's operations in a manner consistent with the guidance received from the Advisory Council and the goals set by the registry's members.
The President of ARIN is an ex-officio member and acts as the liaison between the Board of Trustees and the Advisory Council.

Arin was retrieved with the aid of a friend and the O.P.P. on December 22, 2001, after approximately 6 months of being in the charge of self-proclaimed "professional dog trainer" Adam C. Stone, also known as Corey Reddick.
Arin also had severe pyoderma (infected dermatitis) which likely manifested because of severe flea or lice infestation (which is likely why he had been bathed the day he was picked up in such a strong chemical).
Arin, who previously would willingly go into a great dane sized crate (he is a very large greyhound) could not be put into one.

February 26, 2004: During ARIN AC meeting its mentioned that ARIN council has reviewed the policy proposal and has number of comments about it that will need to be reviewed.
April 20, 2004: During the meeting of the ARIN AC, the chair has proposed to abandon this policy proposal due to his own opposition and that there was no overwhelming support shown for the proposal during the voting (as has been the case previous times).

ARIN is one of three Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) worldwide which collectively provide IP registration services to all regions around the globe.

Now that ARIN is starting operations, it might be useful to add more information that can be used to give people an idea of where ARIN stands from an operational standards point of view.
ARIN could help by pointing to recycling centers where people are working to list IP blocks that have been abandoned.
As ARIN moves forward I caution the Trustees that they should look carefullly at what is going on, or more importantly not going on.
