		The record is actually based on an old chestnut from the Arab classical music tradition.
		This is a recording of "One Thousand and One Nights" as performed by the Egyptian singer Umm Kalthoum, who ruled the Arab music world from the 1930's until her death in 1975.
		His record company is planning to release a "One Thousand and One Nights" CD in the US during the coming weeks.

		Only weeks after being released from a lengthy impasse with Polygram records, longtime area favorites the Badlees are already set to sign a new national recording contact with Ark 21 Records.
		The album - recorded in Bearsville, N.Y., and Los Angeles in 1997 and 1998 - has been in corporate limbo since early last year when the Badlees' former label, Polygram Records, was sold to the Seagrams company.
		He adds that although several labels were interested in signing the Badlees and acquiring the "Up There Down Here" masters, Ark 21 was the only one that could guarantee the album would be released this year.

	Concrete Blonde Official Website
		On March 18, 2003 Ark 21 Records will release Live From Brazil, the first ever live album from the legendary rock group, Concrete Blonde.
		The album was recorded in Sao Paulo, Porte Allegro, and Rio De Janeiro during their 2002 tour.
		This live album sees the band working with the legendary Miles Copeland again after previously recording 5 albums for his well-known IRS Records and one album under Concrete Blonde y los illegals in 1997 for Ark 21.

	Concrete Blonde CD Reviews
		It's your standard live album with your standard crowd noise in the background, but nothing makes it special except, perhaps, that it's the band's first ever official live album.
		Recently, I saw the band live here in California and and the show I saw was exactly like the show recorded on the album - right down to slams against the Bush administration.
		One of my favorite songs from the 80s was "Caroline" and that's captured on this CD as well.

	Howard Jones
		Just as he was finishing up the album "Angels & Lovers," for release only in Japan, Jones was invited to participate in a "songwriter's boot camp" last year at a castle in France.
		Led by ARK 21 Records head Miles Copeland, Jones and other artists were paired off each day, assigned to write a new song by lunch and record it before dinner.
		Three songs from the boot camp ended up on an expanded version of "Angels & Lovers," which was retitled "People" and released stateside July 14 on ARK 21.

		For two discs and eighteen songs there's little to complain of catalog-wise, but I'll have my say and go on record to criticize for not including two all time classics criminally excluded from the set - "Jenny I Read" and "Heal It Up," from the incredible "Mexican Moon" release in '93.
		Hard to imagine not having it all with such a massive collection, and yet explains much in the storied and sometimes scattered career of Concrete Blonde, a true Rock n' Roll original that's seen 'em come and go.
