Avex is one of the largest independent record labels in the world, since they are not associated with any of the "Big Four".
Avex was Japan's leading dance record company during the nineties, and continues producing recordings today of some of Japan's most famous J-pop singers.
He subsequently signed her to the Avex label, ending her infamous fllisting under SONY Records that had all but destroyed her career.

Koda has been around for 6 years, she had her break through this year, much thanks to her quite free approach to what counts as clothes or dance, by what I understand.
Since Koda's been so successful and both are Avex girls, I think,whether or not it was Avex or Ayu pulling the strings, her looks on say, the cover of 'Startin'/Born to Be' may have been some sort of reaction to Koda's popularity?
I think that even if you were a serial killer, you'd be able to convince the whole world that it was actually a very good idea to kill them all.
