	AVUS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The Automobil Verkehrs und Übungs-Straße, better known as AVUS, was a motor racing circuit on the south-western outskirts of Berlin, Germany, between Charlottenburg and Nikolassee.
		Also, it was planned to connect the AVUS to the growing Reichsautobahn network by extending it to the south, so the South Turn at Nikolassee was demolished and replaced by a junction.
		It is a common yet wrong belief that the Berlin Wall had cut the AVUS in half.

	8W - Where? - AVUS
		That meant that the old Avus North curve from 1921 had to go and the track had to be shortened.
		However, as AVUS already was an extremely fast track - it consisted of two, some 9 km long, parallel straights connected by a 180 degree curve at each end - it meant that from now on the racing cars only had to go through one slow curve per 19.286 km lap.
		The new North curve was built with a surface of red bricks and had a banking of 43 degrees.

		We had a great discussion about the AVUS in the German Forum with most of these fantastic pictures from McRonalds.
		And yes, indeed to me a very fascinating circuit, even if there was a trend in the media in the recent years to regard the track "not demanding enough".
		The northern part of the AVUS ended up in the US Zone and the original south curve in the Soviet Zone, hence the circuit being chopped short.

		I bought it from an advertiser in Shutterbug, when that magazine was a yellow sheet with nothing but ads in eye-killing fine print.
		Out of the box, the Avus had the smell of an old shoe; but the shutter seemed to be accurate and on front was a big peachy Skopar.
		The Avus’ lens is 135mm; on a 6x6cm frame, that is a perfect length for portraiture.

		If your RST is using "you need an avus to become Khaibit" as a way to keep you from playing a Khaibit, he's just wrong; if he's got some storyline reason why he doesn't want to you play a Khaibit, that's different, I guess.
		I also heard unconfirmed rumor that at ICC there were very powerful NPCs sent out as Khabit hunting parties, to "thin the heard" because once again there are "too many Khaibit".
