Aabach is a 140km long river in Germany, which was formerly called Große Aa, flowing into Afte.
From there it flows north between up to 503 m high mountains by a wonderful forested landscape, partly still to Diemelsee belonged, already a few kilometers into Aabachstausee.
The drainage area of the Aabachs lies on Rhine River Watershed: The Aabach, which flows to the north over the Afte, Alme and Lip River intso the Rhine drains, while the Baechlein, which rises on the souternh side of the Bergkamms, along with Hoppecke and Diemel into the Weser.
