Iran Zamin, Dec. 4 - Owing to the deteriorating economic conditions which have resulted in intolerable social pressures, workers in Qa'emshahr's textile factory (northern Iran) and Isfahan's Pars and Khaam-baaft textile and Aali brick factories (central Iran) have gone on strike.
Workers at Qa'emshahr textile factory have staged a strike since Saturday, November 25, to protest lack of a raise in their wages.
Workers at Isfahan's Aali brick factory have begun a strike for the non-payment of their wages.

TEHRAN, June 20--A statue of Malek ul-Motekallemin, an activist in the Constitutional Movement in the early years of the 20th century, which was installed on the southern flank of Tehran’s Park-e Shahr, has disappeared after its transfer to the Parks Organization’s warehouse.
The historical sculpture, a masterpiece by the noted Iranian sculptor Abolhassan Sadiqi, was unveiled in Hassanabad Square (formerly known as Malek ul-Motekallemin) and was relocated to Park-e Shahr in the early days of the Islamic Revolution.
Director of Shahr Publications Masoud Shahram-nia said that book markets will also be organized at cultural houses during the summer to supply books for students of universities and high schools as well as young adults and children.
