		Whereas an average of 333 lorries drive into five street sections in Aarhus daily, only sixteen lorries would theoretically be needed if they were optimally loaded.

		Following the energy crisis in the 1970s, Heat Plan Aarhus was approved in 1980, aiming at supplying the municipality of Aarhus with CHP-based heat production at the Studsdrup power plant located 17km north of the city.
		The plan was implemented by 1985 and is presently catering for the heat supply to more than 250,000 inhabitants in the municipality of Aarhus.
