Nine miles northwest of Abbeyfeale is Listowel (a thriving town) and nine miles west is the well-known Kerry seaside resort of Ballybunion.

At this stage Abbeyfeale were playing well at midfield but St Brendans were dangerous on the break but they could not finish off promising moves in the final third of the pitch.
