ABBOTTABAD, MARCH 18 (SANA): Sungi Development Foundation is organizing an event to highlight disaster management plans at district levels, initially in the quake-hit areas in the wake of October 8 earthquake that killed over eighty thousands people and left over 3.5 million homeless.
The Abbottabad disaster assembly will be attended by Sungi’s community partners from various union councils, district line agencies, local government elected representatives, district administration and other civil society organizations.
The prime objective of the assembly is to institutionalize a disaster forum at district level -- a functional body with clear role and responsibilities in peace as well as calamity situations.

District Nazim Mustafa Jadoon assured the members that rules would not be violated in matter of transfer and postings and every thing would be done on merit.
To a question, the district Nazim said that appointments and transfers in the education and health departments would be made by the district government on the recommendations of house committees.

ABBOTTABAD, Oct 12 : Devastating earthquake kills another eight hundred people in rural parts of Hazara, especially the remote and deprived districts of Battagram and Kohistan, eyewitnesses said.
As many as 197 death have been confirmed in district Kohistan during the massive quake while the death toll in Battagram district rise to 1008 till filing of this report.
Superintendent of Police Battagram Nisar Khan told that death toll in the district is more than one thousand, the number of injured is countless and the most of the area was badly affected.

A potential obstacle to the implementation of the strategy for quality service delivery is the understandable reluctance of health staff, often having a relatively urban background and social and family ties, to work in remote communities with poor utilities and social opportunities.
