 ARAB SCULPTURE
Fattah continuously examines the interweaving relationship and fusion between the human form and its environment.
Fattah has executed many important works such as Al Wasite monument, a statue depicting the Philosopher Al-Farabi, life-size statues for several Iraqi Poets, and murals and statues for numerous public buildings and squares in Iraq.
Fattah is a monumentalist, unlike many of his contemporaries, like Mohammed Ghani, Khalil al Warid, Miran al Saadi or Nida'a Kadhim, whose approach is more humanist and mannerist.

Whereas before, pungent criticism of the president was confined to the “extremist” Abdel Halim Qandils, Ibrahim Eissas, and Gamal Fahmis, now even “respectable” university professors, doctors, and judges joined in.
In 2001, Professor Saad Eddin Ibrahim and his fellow defendants were accused of criminally conspiring to bribe television officials to air positive programming on Ibrahim’s research centre.
As is well known, he was the son of Naguib Pasha al-Hilali, minister of education, trade and industry, and Prime Minister in the final months of the monarchy before the Free Officers’ coup.
