Tun Abdul Razak bin Haji Dato' Hussein Al-Haj (March 11, 1922-January 14, 1976) was the second Prime Minister of Malaysia, ruling from 1970 to 1976.
On September 1970, Tun Razak succeeded Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Abdul Razak's eldest son, Najib Tun Razak, became the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia under Abdullah Badawi in 2004.

Born in Istana Pelamin, Alor Setar, Kedah, Abdul Rahman was the seventh son and twentieth child of Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah, the twenty-fourth Sultan of Kedah.
Abdul Rahman began his education in 1909 at a Malay Primary School, Jalan Baharu, in Alor Setar and was later transferred to the Government English School, now the Sultan Abdul Hamid College, Alor Setar, where he studied during the day and read the Qur'an in the afternoon.
Abdul Rahman's powers as Prime Minister were severely curtailed, and on 22 September 1970, he was forced to resigned as Prime Minister in favour of Tun Abdul Razak.

Abdul Razak, then Assistant State Secretary in Pahang and as head of the UMNO Youth section a member of the Council, felt he was too young.

Tun Razak may have been all that you guys say he was (for better or worse) but he did get the country on an even keel when Time magazine was crowing about “the Death of Democracy in Malaysia” in ‘69.
Tun Razak and his National Operations Council people reacted to the events then based on the possible scenarios that would be played out and I believe we should give thanks that he stopped things from getting further out of hand.
