Aberdeen’s opening number will be “The Star Spangled Banner,” which Reece said they are performing in support of a nationally recognized project to bring awareness to that song, what it stands for and how people are supposed to act and stand during its performance.
In addition to the AHS band concert at the convention in Tupelo, there will also be a performance by students from all over the state who audition and make the clinic band.
Aberdeen citizens are welcome to come out and support the band at both the dress rehearsal at AHS and the Tupelo concert.

By 1992, they had gained a reputation as a band adept at mixing traditional Scottish fare with more modern material, but it was the addition of percussionist Davy Cattanach in that year that gave the band a character unlike any other of their contemporary bands and allowed them to branch out in new directions.

In the months preceding the premiere, the Dakota Prairie Museum will be mounting an exhibition, "Saving Our Prairies," which will include a series of programs on ecological diversity and the importance of habitat preservation.

Your lucky correspondent happened to be in the right place at the right time.
But I remember picking up drumsticks lying on stage and banging on a large tom-tom as the rest of the band descended onto the drum set for a tribal finale that finally broke the wall between the audience and band.
